Supporting people as they create lasting change, Stacy Schilter is a mental health counselor, a marriage and family therapist and a chemical dependency professional working in Olympia, Washington. She holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Family Therapy from Antioch University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Western Washington University. She has also acquired a license in addictions counseling.
Specifically, Stacy is interested in contributing her voice to the prevention of eating disorders and works to support individuals as they combat their self-defeating thoughts, identify effective coping strategies, and begin utilizing their voice. She has led numerous support groups and has spent time doing presentations for various populations in the Olympia and Seattle areas. During the six years she has been working in the field, her enthusiasm and experience has influenced the lives of many individuals, parents and families affected by eating disorders and dangerous dieting behaviors.
Outside of working with individuals and families combating the disordered eating mindset, Stacy has developed her knowledge of chemical dependency, trauma, grief and loss, identity development, relational difficulties, affect regulation and career transitions. She approaches her work with compassion, empathy and understanding and has gained an awareness of how to support individuals, couples and families striving to participate more fully in their lives.
