Free Support Group
Focusing my attention on the population of individuals who struggle with disordered eating tendencies, dangerous dieting behavior and intrusive body image concerns, I co-facilitate Liberated from Within: Supporting Those in Need & Informing Those Who Care.  This is a FREE educational community support group held on Tuesday nights from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Olympia area.  It is a safe environment where individuals can feel comfortable talking about food, exercise and body-related challenges.  It is also a place for people striving to learn more about how to contribute to prevention efforts and/or how to help a friend or loved one.  To find out specific information about the group, please contact me, write to info@LiberatedfromWithin.com or visit the "Free Support Group" area of this site.

Individual Counseling

If you are hoping to receive individual counseling to address a life challenge or to overcome an identified obstacle, individual sessions are available.  They are 50 minutes in length and are scheduled on Wednesday and Friday afternoons / evenings.  As a Marriage and Family Therapist and Mental Health Counselor, I focus on how your family of origin has influenced your thought patterns, behaviors and relationship-related decision-making.  I also focus on your ability to cope with different emotions and on the things that contribute to your present circumstances.  When needed, I provide resources and education materials as well.  During your involvement in counseling, you will benefit from a variety of therapy styles including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Narrative, Motivational and Experiential.

Couples & Family Counseling

If you are experiencing difficulties in your relationship or in your family’s interaction patterns, it is possible that you need an outside perspective and a neutral facilitator.  You may benefit from learning more effective communication patterns and identifying the factors that contribute to the identified problem.  If this is the case, couple and family sessions are available.  They are 50 minutes in duration and are scheduled on Wednesday and Friday afternoons / evenings.  While working with couples and families, I recognize that each person’s behavior has an impact on their entire family or on their partner.  I also recognize that behavior often serves a function in the relationship or family system.  Exploring these things provides everyone the opportunity to make changes and begin working together to resolve conflicts or difficulties that arise.  During your involvement in counseling, you will benefit from a variety of therapy styles including, but not limited to: Family Systems, Structural and Cognitive-Behavioral.

Free 1/2 Hour “Meet the Therapist”
Because choosing a therapist or counselor is not an easy process and because the therapeutic relationship is so important, you are invited to meet with me for a free 1/2 hour session.  During that time, you are able to ask any questions you may have.  I, in turn, would find out important information about what you are hoping to gain from seeking my services and what you would like to see change because of your involvement in counseling.

Fees & Payment Information
I request $80.00 for each 50-minute session.  At this time, my ability to accept insurance is limited.  For that reason, if this cost keeps you from seeking counseling at this time, I do provide a sliding scale option.  We can discuss special circumstances prior to your first session or during your arranged 1/2 hour appointment.

Once again, thank you for considering
my counseling services at this time
